This article looks at how to better your eyesight using a variety of natural ways. Glasses and contact lenses aren’t listed here because they don’t better your eyesight – they cover up the problem and alleviate the symptoms – there’s a big difference. Here are some great pointers that I always recommend to people who want to improve their eyesight using natural means. Using these techniques I’m about to share with you, many people have experienced an amazing improvement in the clarity of their vision in as little as a couple of weeks.

Strengthen the Eye Muscles – Eye Exercises

To learn how to better your eyesight, it’s fundamental to train the physical elements that make up the eye. The most important part of the eye to train is the muscle. Strengthening your muscles will help you to avoid conditions such as lazy eye, double vision and blurred vision. There are hundreds of exercises you can do to strengthen the eye muscles; one of the most widely used is called palming, where you put your palms over your eyes and concentrate on a full sense of relaxation.

Give Your Eyes a break

Another key point in learning how to better your eyesight is to vary what your eye focuses on. Eye strain is a particularly common occurrence in people who focus for too long on one thing. A common example is someone who works in an office all day looking at a computer screen. If this is you, then here’s what I suggest you do. Every 10 minutes or so, take your focus away from the monitor and look at something that is further than 20 feet away. Look at that object for 10 seconds or however long you need before refocusing back on the monitor. This is a great way to reduce the likelihood of eye strain. Learn to Use Your Eyes Correctly

The final point in learning how to better your eyesight involves learning how to use your eyes correctly. It sounds funny, but I can guarantee that you’re not using your eyes correctly nor to their full potential. The human eyesight is not designed for focusing on objects sharply. The more you focus on an object, the more chance you have of actually damaging your eyesight. There are exercises that you can do that will teach you to use your eyes correctly and understand when you’re putting too much stress and strain on them. The late William Bates devised a series of exercises that you can do that will teach you subconsciously how to use your eyes correctly. If you can do these consistently for about 2 – 4 minutes each day, then you’ll get great results after a couple of weeks.
